Program Details
PEARLS is a 25-30-week program for young parents dealing with the dual challenges of adolescence and parenting. Through interactive sessions involving group discussions, role-plays, educational games, and other creative techniques, group members build a positive support group helping them to deal with the issues they face on a daily basis.
Skill-building
With support from a caring adult, participants develop many skills, including: decision-making, goal setting, communication, positive parenting, and stress management. Comprehensive sexuality education is also provided, including: sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy prevention, and the value of abstinence/secondary virginity.
